I've got an old laptop that has a failing CD drive. It'll still boot a disc, but after it spins up for a while (transferring large files like the kernel), it starts to get read errors and fails the install. Would there be a way to use the Xubuntu install CD to boot, and then copy the files off of a USB drive? Thanks.
