Hello

I recently installed a fresh copy of ubuntu 8.10 and since then i have a lot of problems. my updates were so dawm slow so i looked up on google for a solution and i found a forum telling me to go to synaptic package manager --> settings --> repositories and then chose a best server and after i did that my updates turned really fast but now when i open firefox and type in any website it takes hours to load and my ubuntu shut's down dawm slow and since i installed advance desktop effects the bar on the top of the windows disappears and shows up only when i move the cursor there and after every restart all my previous settings for advance desktop effects reset.

plz help me!!!!!

-Thank You

is your video hw-driver configured correctly? I had similar issues at one point, and it was a matter of adjusting a couple xorg.conf settings.
