Canonical's servers / its mirrors are just awesome!

I'm just amazed at the download speeds I get from them. Today, the upgrade to 8.10 700+ MB downloaded in about just 4 minutes! (Sure this was at my workplace (Intel Research lab) not my home but still I get impressive speeds at home with my stupid Comcast connection too)

Considering that Canonical provides this service free of cost, I am just amazed they are able to support such a huge community with that quality of service! Go Canonical!

I don't think Canonical pays for the mirrors.

I mostly use belnet or skynet and always max out my connection.

Do they pay for those mirrors?

I doubt they pay, some mirrors are universities.

My ISP is an unlisted mirror for Ubuntu, Arch & many other distro's, which is nice.

I always max out when using them too, which is also nice.
