Hi all,
After upgrading to Kubuntu 8.10 from 8.04, the package 'spim' was removed. It is not available via the repositories anymore. Is this just due to a package maintainer needing to tick it off and say that it works for the upgrade? Is there any way I can still install the package?

Thanks,
enpey

You can download the deb package from here (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/intrepid/+package/spim) or here (http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/spim) and install it

Ok thanks for that.

Why is this not available through Adept package manager or command line apt-get? Is there somewhere I can read up about the package system?
