Hello people. I am running Ubuntu on Intel 4500MHD GPU, and because there is no driver for this card, I have to use VESA driver. I have one question. Currently I have 1024x768. Is there any chance for higher resolution? I have 16,4" display on VAIO FW. Thank You

I am running on an vaio SR, but it is a 13.3 inch screen, but the resolution problem has been a pain so far...I have an ongoing thread right now, but haven't had the time to tinker with the recommended solution yet. I don't know if it helps, but here ya go:

Good luck!

immediate answer is no. At least, to what you're asking. VESA cannot achieve anything higher than 1024x768. So the simple answer would be no.

with that said, i'm pretty sure there's drivers out there for the 4500MHD (someone please correct me, just did a fresh install and am updating now). After my updates, I'll do some digging, and see what the fix is for proper graphics resolution with the 4500MHD and ubuntu-based distros (i prefer the mint flavor myself.)
