Hi all,
I recently upgraded to Ubuntu 8.10 from 7.10 to 8.04.

For some reason I am having sever problems in nautilus ( enough to put showstoppers in my day to day work and irritate me like hell)

Earlier, when in the nautilus windows, I could just type in the file name (e.g. for jimmy.doc I would typr jim and 1. a small dialog box in the lower right corner of the window would show jim and the file jimmy.doc would be automatically scrolled to and selected.

For some quirk/reason this just does not happen anymore. It is really causing me a lot of inconvenience as I keep a lot of files in the same folder and this makes it harder to hunt for the file without picking the mouse, scrolling to the appropriate alphabet and picking it out.

I really appreciate if someone could help me get back the old behavior.

Thanks
SP
