Hello,

I have a rather weird problem. After installing
Hardy Heron 8.04 (Kubuntu) on my laptop everything worked out of the box until one day when the this problem with the sound suddenly (after having finished a Skype session) occurred:

The sound now is ONLY hearable through my laptop loudspeakers when the head phone is plugged IN, but no sound is in the head phones. This looks too my like a inverted head jack sensors, which should normally switch from the loudspeakers to the headphones, if plugged in.

I have already reinstalled ALSA but it did not change. I was not able to find anything online for this special problem.

Anyone has experienced the same problems?

thanks for your help
helmut
