I'm a new Ubuntu user, I was using Windows XP. My ISP has given me a Modem. Modem brand name is Paradyne, It might be a local modem.
Is there anyway to connect Internet using that Modem?
Please help me.

any idea if your connection is DSL or cable.. in windows xp, did you require a dialer to connect to the internet or does it work as soon as you switch on your modem?

if it's a usb modem, then it should be no problem, just have network manager dial the number. if network manager doesn't work, try gnome-ppp.
