The upgraded from 8.04 to 8.10 online was smooth and fast just a few days after the release.
Now when I boot into gnome the processor is averaging between 95% and 100% at all times. I can't see from the standard process window (or TOP command) what actual process is responsible.
System still functions ok, although a bit slow, and the fan is racing the entire time to cool down my machine (laptop)
Any suggestions welcome.
