hi all

after intrepid installation notified me about a new ati driver for my Radeon X1300
Using the Hardware Drivers manager i click on "Activate", enter my password, a dialog starts saying "downloading and installing driver" for only 2 seconds
the dialog disappears and nothing happend
the driver is neither downloaded nor installed

so my question is:
anybody knows whats the reason?
how can i detect what the problem is?

what i tried:
apt-get clean/update
reinstalling jockey
using tcpdump to know if there is a server problem, but it seems that jockey dont even begin a connection to a server

any further ideas to know what happens?

another solution maybe is:
what should jockey do?
and how can i do this manually?

i installed the drivers using synaptic
an installation guide can be found here

http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Intrepid_Installation_Guide#Installing_the_ restricted_drivers_.22the_Ubuntu_way.22

the installation was no problem and direct rendering is enabled
altough compiz doesn work, but thats another problem

thx
