I'm looking for information on which companies use Linux and OSS and what for. Anyone knows any good web resources?

I'm also looking for some recent market share numbers on the server.

Any help is appreciated.

(school assignment :) )

IBM - Supplies a large amount of kernel developers and uses it for servers.

Novell - Supplies a good amount of kernel developers as well, and uses it for servers.

Google - Uses Linux for its servers.

Wikipedia - Uses Linux for its servers.

Microsoft - Ironically uses Linux on a server.

Redhat - Uses Linux for its servers.

Dell - Yet ANOTHER Linux user for its servers.

According to the COC and several threads you should not post homework here:

While we are happy to serve as a resource for hints and for asking questions when you get stuck and need a little help, the Ubuntu Forums should not be thought of as a homework service. Please do not post your homework assignments expecting someone else to do it for you. Any such threads will be taken offline and warnings or infractions may be issued.

It isn't against the forum rules (to my knowledge), I just don't see why you shouldn't get the full...er...educational experience :)

In direct conflict with that belief, I will say that IBM has been and continues to be huge in supporting Linux. There should be plenty of info just on them.

EDIT: See above post. I learned something new today :D

A little search of Forum would have produced this:

OMG! Whats wrong with you people? I never asked anyone to do my homework and if anyone thinks I did please DO NOT post in this thread, I know the rules. I just wanted to know if anyone could share a link to a webpage like this (http://hitachi-id.com/linux-biz/).

I'm in college and I'm doing serious research, and asking around is part of it. Just like searching in Google, books and interviewing people.

But who know, maybe it is my fault and i should have explained my self better,

Anyhow, thanks a lot to the people who helped.
