Hi guys,

I am currently running a edgy installation of Ubuntu. I wanted to upgrade this installation to 8.10.

I used the normal commands such as:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get distro-upgrade

But I only receive the option of upgrading to 7.04

Not too sure why this is the case, so I have not opted with the upgrade at the moment because I do not want to repeat the upgrade procedure numerous times. If someone could enlighten me on why this is the issue that would be fantastic. Also would anyone be able shed some light on how to upgrade using a CD.

I apolagise if what I have asked is reptitive at all..

Thanks in advance

You need to upgrade to 7.04 to then upgrade to 8.04 as you said, other option is burn an 8.04 ISO and clean install straight to Hardy
