I am assuming they are using some type of windows software, right?

The progress bar looked a bit like one style I've seen on Windows....

Speaking of which, earlier in the year I was hooked up to an ECG monitor that had a treadmill and some other gadgetry attached - on the screen was an obvious XP taskbar. I think the jokes about catching something from it went over the operator's head.

We don't have time for them to rewrite the kernel and reverse engineer the drivers to work with the hardware. Maybe by the 2016 elections?

The use of these machines better not be compulsory.

If I were in a state that used these voting machines I would demand to be able to vote on a paper ballot -- and bring the case to court if I have to.

I have nothing against electronic voting machines in general, but I DO have something against the insecure, closed-source vote traps that Diebold has been selling.

There was a U.S. Federal investigation into the software used to count votes. I saw a video of some of it, where a software architect who worked for the company who created the software used in U.S. elections stated that it was programmed in such a way that it could produce the desired result.

No wonder so many U.S. citizens don't bother voting!
