I read in the release notes for 8.10 (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes/810) that the r300 series will be dropped from the ATI driver.
I myself have an old 9800pro and wondered what consequenses this will have for me if I upgrade from 8.04? What does the ATI driver have that the other driver doesn't? will this affect regular 2d? or is it just 3d that is affected?
