Where is the default configuration file for fvwm? I installed fvwm with apt-get and am able to use the window manager. I would like to make some modifications and am looking for the default config file. I have nad no luck looking in the places it is supposed to be as per the man page. That is there is no $HOME/.fvwm/config /usr/local/share/fvwm/config $HOME/.fvwm/.fvwm2rc $HOME/.fvwm2rc /usr/local/share/fvwm/.fvwm2rc /usr/local/share/fvwm/system.fvwm2rc /etc/system.fvwm2rc. Where is fvwm getting its default configuration from? by the way , I am selecting fvwm as one of the sessions available through gdm if that makes a difference.

any insight would be great

thanks Dave

There is no default config file, it's built in. fvwm is a blank slate when you install it. You get a config by starting from someone else's and tweaking it. "Someone else's" might mean something from Fvwm-Crystal (http://www.fvwm-crystal.org/), or on the Fvwm forums (http://fvwm.lair.be/), or using the ancient config generator in the default menu.
