OK, upgraded to 8.10 all full of excitement. It's crap. Why would an upgrade change all my fonts, all my background slideshows, all my bars?

Anyway, I want to correct a few things:

1- The new menu is awful, how do i get it back to the previous version?
2- What are the normal fonts, because the new ones are terrible.
3- How do I get it to allow different backgrounds for the different desktops?
4- I don't seem to be able to create a simple "top application bar" - it's all widget crap.
5- It no longer allows me to have the correct resolution for 1440x900
6- Not sure how to describe this - the clickable things on the bar for the open windows are all huuuuuuuuuge across the screen, how do I get this back to normal?
7- How to get rid of the annoying "feet" that have planted themselves all over the screen? Very annoying.

That's it for now (but I only finished upgradeing 5 minutes ago :D)

You've just discovered why many people make /home on a separate partition. They can restore that partition after an upgrade or new install.
