Evolution Groupware Server

I was wondering how evolution works as a real groupware tool with sharing calendar and addresses. I would expect a server package to install on a main server, so the evolution clients could connect with each other.

Or how does it work if one evolution client wants to see the calendar of an other?

I looked at it a while ago, and really didn't get too far. There was just something about it that I didn't like for an enterprise deployment. I really can't pin it down... just a sense that it wasn't going to fit well.

I'm currently toying with Zimbra. It looks promising.

Well, Evolution is a mail/calendar client. It works fine with Citadel, Zimbra, OpenExchange and MS Exchange.

I guess the answer to your question depends on what needs you have. The open source version seems to be fairly complete and robust enough for what I need it to do, but of course, your needs might be different.

I use Citadel. It is very easy to install and zero maintenance and works with pretty much any mail client.
