IF YOU ARE GOING TO UPGRADE, PLEASE DO WHAT EVERYONE ADVISES: BACKUP
After backing up your data, You might also consider imaging your current working HDD. You can do this by using this tool ( http://www.remastersys.klikit-linux.com/ ) prior to backup and the if something doesn't go as well as you'd hoped, you can revert to your old install.
