Hey All,

Looking for information on Accessibility Features in Linux desktops; either integrated or programs that can be installed. Voice Commands are high on the list of needed features. I know Gnome has a magnifier by default, any other features? Add-ons? What about KDE? XFCE and Fluxbox seem less like to have features like voice commands, but I could be wrong.

Any information is appreciated... off to google now.

Hmm, didn't know Orca had voice capabilities.

Anyone have any experience with gnome-voice-control?
What about kde-voice=control? (that may be the wrong name, sorry).

My accessibility need is to have the screen colours inverted. Macs do it with "black light". Windows users must us "Powerstrip". After searching for ages, I found this for Linux users: "If you are looking for more options, install the package compizconfig-settings-manager. Be sure to keep simple-ccsm installed so that the Custom option remains available in Visual Effects."

Compiz gives many accessibility options. It will show "negative" as the colour inverter. NOTE that you must use a key combination to swap into that mode. Default is <super> m

And it just works.

(key words: compiz negative inverse inverted colors colours)
