Alright, I've been very excited about the release of 8.10 and so far the few updates that have made it onto my system have fixed many, if not all, of the problems i was previously having. The only issue now is when I run the update manager. It lets me know that I am not fully updated to 8.10 with the upgrade button (the update never finished. i got a "failed to install" message and had to restart the update manager several times). It says that there are about 1477 files to download before installing. I have made it to 1388 and it doesn't seem to want to go any further. The regular updates themselves say I have 700 something updates that can be installed, but then i am prompted with a notice that i can't install all updates, and that i should perform a partial update. I tried that to see if it helped, but even that wouldn't make it anywhere. I'm a bit iffy on what to do. I have a LOT of files on there that I can't risk wiping until I back them up on an external hard drive or something. I just want to be able to finish my updates and have 8.10. If anybody has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.
