View Full Version : [ubuntu] I couldn't listen mp3 and watch dvd, mpeg

i couldn't listen mp3 songs and i couldn't watch any dvd movie, mpeg. i use ubuntu 8.04.1 version. i downloaded some deb packages from web. but those are not support. i couldn't use internet in ubuntu. i use net connection in windows vista. i downloaded those packages through the vista. then i try to install those packages in ubuntu 8.04.1. but those deb packages are not compatible with this version. if anyone knows the link to get play the mp3 and DVD fomrat deb packages pls link those name here..

Im having a little trouble understanding what you're saying. I guess its the language barrier, but it sounds like you're trying to get DVD's to play in Ubuntu. Just do this in a terminal...

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras


then get libdvdcss2 from here
http://packages.medibuntu.org/intrepid/libdvdcss2.html

and install it. You should be able to play dvd's now.

I think hes trying to say he doesn't have a internet connection working on ubuntu

you can get all hardy 8.04 packages here http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/
download them in vista and install the package in ubuntu just by double clicking it
