I just upgraded from 8.04 to 8.10. I installed the 8.04 using wubi so I could double boot this laptop. I upgraded to 8.1 using the internal upgrade utility. After the upgrade, upon reboot the machinw would not boot until I disconnected the usb hd. (I got 2 Src0 i/o error lines and then nothing). When I unplugged the usb drive the boot continued, but the usb hd did not show up on any screen or any other "place". Other usb devices work in the ports. Even a usb flash drive is recognized and auto mounted. I would like the usb hd to be auto recognized and auto mounted. Can anyone help?
