There's the link to download the 1.5 Final version. It's been out since yesterday I guess, there's a lot of buzz around the net about it.

Is it just me, or is Firefox 1.5 final not stuffing so much into the Xorg process like the earlier versions? I have used RC1, and using that my Xorg process consumed really much memory - more than a double of what it is now.

Hear, hear! Drag tabs are so fun...:p

It's quite exciting to have this new version -- I can't wait to see all that it does!

The official Linux build is 18 days old. RC2, RC3, and Final are exactly the same on Linux.

I'm running the latest nightly instead, but I'm guessing either it's exactly the same or there's something wrong with it, or else it would have become the Final.

The drag and drop tabs are a little buggy. If you accidentally do a moving click, not intending to drag, it'll start to drag and not complete it upon mouseup. You have to either complete the drag by clicking or abort it with the escape key.

hm i haven't had that problem so far, yes i noticed that the final sources are the same size of the rc3 i doubt they did any changes at all. so anyway im still happy im using the final now :)

There's how to do it manually.

Myself? I'm too lazy right now to do it manually...so I'm waiting till it's in the repos.....mmmmmmmmmm....automation.....

there is no change from rc3 to final.

i want to compile from source, but am afraid... if you feel like posting a tutorial for how to do it, please do!

I am sorry to say this but FF 1.5 is the most unpolished release ever - on the Linux platform. There are really bad bugs left in there! I will be sticking to 1.0.7 and hoping 2.0 fixes them. Check out this OSNews post, it lists some of the bugs i am talking about http://www.osnews.com/permalink.php?news_id=12822&comment_id=66962
The first and 2nd one are most obvious to me on my breezy badger system :(

Don't get me wrong i am not trying to troll here, it works very nicely on windows xp and i have a feeling there is a lack of linux testers to squash these obvious bugs.

I agree, I installed it 2 minutes ago and filed my 1st bug about a banner which takes half page.

It's ashame they don't put as much effort into the Linux version of FF as they do the Windows version. But I guess since the majority of the people useing FF are Windows users that will continue to hold true.
