Skype aidio playback problems?

Ubuntu 8.10 AMD 64. Intel core 2 duo desktop. I just installed Ubuntu 64bit Skype package from the link

It is installed but there is Audio playback problems. No sound.

Same issue here on 32bit. Seems there are some serious sound problems with the new kernel + new alsa
