Friendz, many times we try every trick in the book to try and convert our Windows friends to try and use Linux, mostly we fail at it. Still that doesn't stop us from trying though!
So I just wanted to know, which is the most stupid reason, you have heardd anyone try to pass Linux on?

Please stop trying to "convert" people - let them see for themselves the benefits, but there's no point trying to force people's minds to change - if anything, that'd put them off.

i thought the "people using ubuntu for...bad things" was the weirdest thing ive heard...but it does prove how secure linux is

Yes, misery loves company. There are thousands of us out here sharing stories of what broke or how to do this.

Some of us even run on early level Alpha software which is sure to be broken.

Yep, if it breaks, I can just drop back to the previous level, or run multiple linux's so one breaks and I have a back up.

Here's another reason. This is an IBM Thinkpad 1 gHz Celeron 512 mb which with Intrepid Ibex does a pretty credible job of doing full screen BBC videos. It's dual boot all on a 20 gb hard drive with full office, picture modification software, ...

Wonder how Vista would do on it. I'll never find out.

Tried Vista on my Compaq Presario 3 gHz with 2 gb of storage. The "pre installed" Vista ground on and on way past 20 minutes trying to boot. Back up CD? Oops, that's a R/W CD, sorry, Vista will only use Read only.

So I dropped in an HD Linux that was on a different computer - Ubuntu said new hardware? O.K. up and running in 2 minutes...I didn't even have to call India to get "dispensation" to run on different hardware.

It does no good, nor does it make YOU look any better to try to convert a Microsoft Junkie. The only time they will convert is after they have been duped to work on a Linux system and not realized it!
There are some that still insist that MS IE is the greatest browser and that MS Office is better than Open Office because you have to PAY for it. (nothing FREE can be any good!)

You could use the reason to the dudes that it will attract all of the cheerleaders in town .. if they are dumb enough to bite at that, you don't want them NEAR a computer of any kind!
