View Full Version : Making backports official in hoary

I really think we need to make backports official in hoary. What I mean is that ubuntu should have a backports repository hosted in their servers and hoary should come with then in the sources.list, so users can install new versions of apps if they want. This repository could come commented, but it should be there not in some documentation.
Now in warty I have to say to everyone that installs it to go to breakmyubuntu and configure their systems (and then there is no documentation on how to do it in synaptic only using cl) to install at least Firefox 1.0 that is absolutely needed in the distro.
