Hi all,
the upgrade from 8.04 to 8.10 has gone really smooth for me with one exception: xkbdesc/symbols in /etc/X11 folder is gone. The keyboard now works OK with any of the "predefined" layouts (like US) but in 8.04 I had a slightly modified keyboard layout to include diacritic characters from Swedish, German and Polish.
When these special characters didn't work after the upgrade I wanted to just copy the file from my repository (I have it on a separate drive) but the folder it should be copied to did not exist...
Did you also loose this folder or is it only a bad luck I had during the upgrade? Or (I am a newbie to Linux) have I totally mixed it up and should be looking for this folder and the files somewhere else?
Thanks!
Best regards
