tried a week or two ago - dismal failure. i think 8.10 didn't like my old Matrox video card. Since my computer is a 10yr old PIII 500mg 256k ram, a friend suggested I switch to xfce (Xubuntu). Great. Love it.
My question is this:
If, as it has been hinted, it wasn't exactly 8.10 that didn't like my MGA, but GNOME, might I have success upgrading to 8.10 with my new xfce?
ps, my apologies once again, for my awful behaivor here last time (lack-of-sleep and frustration)
