Hi all,
I took njpatel (http://njpatel.blogspot.com/)'s Affinity (http://affinity-search.googlecode.com/), which hasn't been worked on in a long while, and worked on it for about a month, the results of which can be seen on this screenshots page (http://affinity.wikidot.com/screenshots). It fixes some minor things and adds some new features, such as the saving of recent searches, the option to use Gtk buttons and colors, and plugin support. :)

If you have Tracker and/or Beagle installed, you can use Affinity to search for files. It can also search through your installed applications. Affinity keeps track of your favorite apps and recently opened files. You can change the colors of everything and the window can be translucent, as seen in the screenshots (http://affinity.wikidot.com/screenshots).

It has a Launchpad project (https://launchpad.net/affinity) and a wiki (http://affinity.wikidot.com/). I will post about it from time to time on my blog (http://sharkbaitbobby.blogspot.com/).

Unfortunately it currently can only be installed from source. Directions can be found on this page (http://sharkbaitbobby.blogspot.com/2008/10/trick-or-treat.html). Sometime a Launchpad PPA will probably be set up.

Comments, suggestions, etc. are appreciated. :)

P.S. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong category. I couldn't find a better one.
