Hey all, hope I can get some help here! Anyway, I am trying to install Kubuntu 7.10 after being disappointed to say the least with kubuntu 8.10 after several resolution problems, I could never get the resolution to be right. As the title of my posts mentions, my laptop, an Acer 5610z has a broken screen so I am trying to set up kubuntu using the VGA. However, when I insert a cd to install with he lid closed on the laptop or not, i cannot see anything but a black screen except for when I can see the cd loads at boot. I have tried the graphical installation and the alternate, still no avail. Maybe I'm better off working with 8.10 hardy since I actually had a screen to work with? Any help appreciated, thanks in advance!
