View Full Version : [ubuntu] Want to upgrade - don't like new shutdown dialogue

Hi all

I was reading up about all the new cool features of Intreped Ibex. I'm especially thrilled about things like VPN support in the network-manager, updated gnome and updated repositories in general.

Although, I've seen a screenshot of the new shutdown dialogue, and I don't like it at ALL. I really want to keep my current shutdown dialogue. Is there any way to archieve this?

On a side note -- When I upgrade, will my Applications menu become all jumbled with the new approach, or are my custom settings respected and will I not have to change everything back to how I have it now?

Thanks in forward

I've bit the bullet and I did the upgrade.

I was not asked whether I wanted to have my shutdown dialogue changed at all...

I would really like to have my old functionality back, that is: Remove the three entries in System for Lock, Logout and Shutdown, and get the one back from Hardy (the menu that darkened the screen and had nice big buttons)
