When the new 8.11 Catalyst comes out, will the fglrx be updated in the ubuntu repos as well? Or will we have to install 8.11 manually when it comes out?

If we have to install it manually, is there a step by step guide to REMOVE THE CURRENT FGLRX and INSTALL THE NEW ONE so that we don't get conflicts or two restricted drivers enabled at once?

Hello Izek,

I don't think so. You can use Envy to install Ati drivers, but it's usually a few versions 'behind'. So, yes, you'll most probably have to manually set the driver up.

I had pretty good results so far, by manually installing it via the installer that comes with the Ati drivers.

Thanks, I'll see what happens when the day comes, but I doubt it'll be for a while. *sighs*
