I tried to install 8.10 today. Computer froze after about 30 mins on "Checking for Obsolete Software." It restarted itself (don't know why). After getting back into Ubuntu via text entry, it now seems stuck in "low graphics mode." I'm using NVidia 9800 and I understand there's a problem with the driver.
How can I go back to 8.04? I have my 8.04 live disk but Ubuntu still goes to the "low graphics" mode, and very little works properly.
I also cannot re-download 8.10. I've backed up all my data and would be willing to wipe the hard drive and reload 8.04 from live disk.
The goal, of course, is to get one version or another up and running in the wonderful way it ran two hours ago.
