View Full Version : [ubuntu] Pidgin & No SSL?

I ran an upgrade from 7.04 to 8.10 last night. After completed, I started up Pidgin. It will connect to ICQ, however AIM, Google Talk, MSN and Yahoo all fail to connect with a message "The connection to this server requires SSL, and no SSL support is detected".

Any ideas what I can try? Package manager indicates I do have the normal SSL library packages installed.

Thanks,

Anyone? I've tried removing and reinstalling the base Pidgin package through Synaptics, and it makes no difference - it still thinks there's no SSL library available.

I am having the same issue. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling all packages through synaptic. Still no luck.
