I posted earlier about a kdesktop_lock error I received while doing the 8.10 upgrade. I rebooted since I didn't have any other options and got the Kernel Panic cannot mount root fs error. I followed the instructions of another posted and added the initrd line to the grub menu.lst. Now instead of a kernel panic I get file not found.
Does the Kubuntu disc have a repair option? I didn't see it in advanced options. Would I be better off finding a way to get my data off the drive and reformatting it and installing fresh? I'd hate to lose everything I've setup but I don't see another way out....
