Hi,

I've installed ubuntu 8.10 from the live-cd (burned the online image) over a vista partition, so I formatted vista and now I have on the old-vista partition an ext-3 ubuntu 8.10 installed.
The first problem I got was the vista loader was still there, so I reinstalled 8.10 on the same disk/partition and the vista loader was gone.
Now here comes the problem:
I used to have a dual boot windows xp / vista
and I wanted to turn that into a windows xp / ubuntu 8.10 dual boot. So far so good, installing worked etc.
But when I startup my pc now it does not use the grub loader but it just boots into windows xp.

I've already tried reinstalling grub via the live-cd but that does not solve the problem. Somewhere between the NTLDR and Grub there is a problem.
How can I fix this?
