Hello all,
Well I've upgraded from Hardy to Intrepid, and all seems well except for one minor problem.
My wireless is completely gone!!
It was working fine in 8.04, and now there's not even a trace of it.
I'm on an Acer Travelmate 2420.
Anyone have any ideas??

cheers

Same thing happened to me. I had to restart twice and finally my wireless interface (hardware) was 'picked up' by the booting process. So I suggest you do the same (I did nothing else in particular).

Well it seems you were right. I plugged into the ethernet cable, downloaded some updates, restarted and lo and behold, there it was.
Thanks!!

Yes, although I haven't yet upgraded to Intrepid (I'm in a slow wireless area at the moment so have to wait :( ) when your problem happened to me recently I discovered that a cold boot (i.e. not simply RESTART but SHUTDOWN) magically allowed the wifi connection to show up. Keep redoing cold boots till you see it! Good luck!

What were these updates you downloaded to make the wireless work for you? Thanks!
