Sweet Spot

How do you guys generally set up your partitions ? My HD is 600+ gigs and in the past have always had a separate home folder, and have used about 2 gigs for Swap. Though now, I can't remember what I used for root and for home. So can you guys please guide me, as according to this screen shot ? I always seem to forget this procedure. Put the next partition in the beginning, or end ? Which one IS in the end, if any ? 12 gigs for root seem enough ? 2 gigs for Swap ? (4 gigs of physical RAM) And which would I create first, root, swap or home folder.. Why do I always forget this stuff ?
