Same problem here... in Xubuntu 64b

I'm trying, from the command line, as root:

# do-release-upgrade

Just a followup note:

When I ran, as root, from the command line:

# do-release-upgrade

it asked a few questions, like whether I wanted to create new configuration files (I said "Yes" to that and the other questions).

But it got me a working upgrade with less fuss than I was expecting.

It might be nice for someone to document "Here are the questions you'll be asked, and here are the answers," but as a workaround for the broken graphical upgrade, the command line upgrade is reasonable.

I guess I'm too much of a noob ... tell me how you got to the root command prompt (from Grub menu?)... using sudo in / I get:

skip@crunch30:/$ sudo do-release-upgrade

I am getting the same error messages. I have tried sudo apt-get update as me and as root. They all come back as error with gpg issues. Why it is not updating the gpg file.

Looks something like this...
root@jonathan-laptop:/# sudo apt-get update

Can you connect to the internet via Firefox, etc. ?

If so, then try changing to a different Ubuntu server in software sources.

Here is my solution:

gpg --keyserver wwwkeys.eu.pgp.net --recv-keys 106A92EF1E5F9737
gpg --armor --export 106A92EF1E5F9737 | apt-key add -
apt-get update

Substitute each line where NO_PUBKEY exists with the appropriate key not found.
