Usb Wireless connection falls after few minutes/hours

I have an Edimax usb stick which is connected through short cable.
every once in few minutes or hours the connection falls down.
If I look at the Network manager it looks as if it is still connected.

to solve it I have to disable and enable wireless.

any ideas?

I think it relates to sleeping mode or something like that because it seems to happen only after a while when I don't touch the computer.

It looks like installing the rt73 driver (through synaptic) did the trick.
correction - it still loses connection every few minutes/hours.

Still having isuues with stable connection.
thats very frustrating cause it is suppose to be a HTPC, connected always to the net.
