Running Ubuntu 64-bit. Followed the upgrade directions -- used "Software Sources" to select "Show Normal Upgrades," installed all Hardy updates, used Update Manager to refresh apt files. But Update Manager simply says that all my stuff is up to date, and does not offer me a version upgrade. I've tried disabling all non-Ubuntu repos in sources.list, no difference.

Any idea what's up?

Version 8.04 is an LTS, so you will not be prompted to upgrade to a NON-LTS version like 8.10 is.

To upgrade from Ubuntu 8.04, press Alt+F2 and type in "update-manager -d" (without the quotes) into the command box. Update Manager should open up and tell you: New distribution release '8.10' is available. Click Upgrade and follow the on-screen instructions.

Thanks, that did it.
