can anyone please explain what the nVidia legacy video support (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/releasenotes/810#nVidia%20%22legacy%22%20video%20support)sectio n in the 8.10 Release Notes means? I may be reading this wrong, but it sounds like those of us with nVidia TNT* and GeForce* cards/chips will be losing 3d acceleration with 8.10. Is this correct?

Please. I've got a GeForce 8600GT in one system and a 6200 in another system. What drivers should I use?

Also, how can I uninstall the nvidia driver from the command line? (what is the apt-get command? what command can I use to figure out which version of the nvidia driver is installed?) This is a bit of a problem for me, as I can't get X running correctly as it has the wrong driver installed now. :-(
