Basically i am moving out, got a credit card and want a decent laptop or desktop to play games and just mess around with.

I live in england so no american sites, need uk sites.

Not looking to spend much either.

But if you're really serious about games, you'll need a desktop or a PS3.

I have a PS3 yeah and i've decided to build a destkop, need a decent cheap motherboard for a core 2 quad.

Have a look on Ebuyer (http://www.ebuyer.com), they're usually the cheapest and the user reviews can be helpful.

I am a huge advocate of building your own system. It's not too hard (picking the parts is usually the hardest step), and there's instructions online that are pretty extensive.

I'll start of by saying if you have a choice, pick a desktop.

Laptops are fine for moderate use, but if you spend a lot of time behind a pc, a desktop will be much much more practical.

Why do you need to buy online?

I'm sure that most big store chains have cheap, decent computers.

A multinational called Carrefour here now has quad cores pc's for a measly €500.

In the UK it's simply not possible to buy a good quality desktop PC from a major high street store.

You are pretty much right, but i will be also looking into shops in my local city centre, always nice to have a play around as well (and then find the model online, usually cheaper, some cases not though).

I wish to get a laptop mainly as i won't have a very big room, and i am extremely lazy (so sitting on my bed with laptop is a big big bonus).
