View Full Version : Ubuntu's Eve (Poem)

OK, I can't take the credit for this. My brother claims he wrote it and although i have trouble believing it, I'll give him credit. (edit: ok, he really insists that he wrote it)

I found it sooo funny, I had to share it!!!

It was the day before Ubuntu and all through the house
not a computer was beeping, not even a mouse

Network cables were hung by the rack with care
in hopes that Ubuntu soon would be there.

All the children nested under their parent process
not a program was running, not a hint of success
And the motherboard screaming, running this Vista crap
figured the future would be a permanent nap.

Away with Windows, Gutsy's replacement will be there
the MS people will be crying, agonizing in despair

The moon on the Ibex, with the new fallen snow
will certainly give that MS team something to show
They will run to the terminal and type with their hands
nothing will work, even basic commands

And hark through the night, the Intrepid we hear
with end of Windows is now much more near.

Can't quite put my finger on it, but it sounds familiar somehow.
