i was just looking at the site for the TiVo desktop and noticed that the requirements have the same "we recommend XP" etc. they all have, plus an option for the some macs (not tiger) and the best thing microsoft ever came up with - windows ME. so, no mention of linux, at all? http://www.tivo.com/4.9.4.1.asp

Hmmm.....I guess the Tivo people figured we prefered MythTV boxes anyway. Might be right.

While the Tivo runs Linux as its OS, it is anything but an Open platform. With all the DRM and proprietary stuff they have added for Tivo to go, I doubt it will ever support Linux.

It won't be long before MythTV replaces TiVo, IMHO.
