laptop compatiablity Dell Latitude

I have a Dell Latitude :c540/c640 model number:PP01L that has a P4 processor. I have installed Ubuntu once before and had some compatibility issues with the graphics cards and want to make sure everything will run fine with some of Dell proprietary components on their laptop. Is there a place to find this information or could anyone just tell me?

You could always try the LiveCD, if everything works, then install it.
