Anyone want to write some 55 word stories?

I'll give it a shot:

He typed quickly on his computer, making swift mouse movements. He had forgotten to do the presentation last night, and had to do it before work. He didn't think he could do it, but he finished it on time.

He moved the cursor to "Save".
'Microsoft Office has encountered a problem and must shut down'.

I think that's a pretty interesting style. Regrettably, I use more than fifty-five words in my stories.

I do wish you the best in this passtime, however. It strikes me as unusual and profound, something you ought to chase with all your heart!

See what I did there, bud? I wrote fifty-five words here.

used to write a bit of minimalist fiction years ago, though very seldom down to 55 words. here's something i found, though whether it meets the criteria others can decide! :-)

Angst.

There is an anguish in every man. Sometimes this interprets itself with violence, sometimes through drink. The alcoholic has a special anguish, usually because he understands but refuses to acknowledge the world around him. But the world won't go away by itself. Therefore escapism is required. A damn good drink.

With apologies to Stephen King:

Jack wrote "redrum". He went on: "redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum redrum". He signed off: "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy". Then he grabbed his axe and went to kill his family.
