Hi,
yesterday i got me a samsung sgh f480. All in all its a good cellphone/touchphone. Basically it it is managed through widgets and has a well done gui.
Now after some searching, i realized that the support from Samsung is not so good. Of coarse there is no official Linux software, and - due to its short availiability - the usual linuxapplications seem to not support the f480 for now.

Before i give it back, and change it to a Sony Ericsson (or something), i would like to have your opinions on the further development of linux support for the f480.

Will there be the possibility, to share the contacts/mails/notes from the f480 with Evolution?

Will it be possible to tamper with the filesystem of the f480 to make own Widgets/Skins/Themes ?

Lastly, in the further future, will it be possible to skip the Samsung Software, and use Open Source Software? Like -lets say - Openmoko, Debian or Ubuntu Mobile? (Wouldn`t that be cool?)

thanks in advance
jhulf

I've recently purchased the f480i and would also be extremely interested in ubuntu software aimed towards this phone. so far i'm having trouble to even get gmobilemedia and wammu to work. I wonder how the PC Suite that came with it will go under Wine.
