I'm planning on replacing pclinux with Ubuntu 8.10 in a few days. currently dual booting with win xp and pclinux. I want to make sure I avoid the issue of screwing up my boot loader when I make the switch, Ive ran into that problem before and dont want to have to reload windows. Will I be safe just by wiping the linux partion and installing ubuntu. Any suggestions?#-o

You should be fine; just choose the "manual" option when it comes to setting up the partitions, and there you can have Ubuntu install over PCLinuxOS. :)
