Hey to all newbies take a look at this, is a test with a couple of question to choose what distro is most suitable for you!! For my surprise in the first i get Debian and second option Ubuntu, right now im with ubunto the test is not that far away of reality,

I already try fedora, but i dont feel so comfortable with it! so my main options always is going to be:
Debian: Servers
Ubuntu: Desktop / maybe servers

That quiz seems a bit outdated, as for the polish linux quiz:
1. Gentoo Linux
2. Slackware Linux
3. FreeBSD
4. Archlinux
5. Debian GNU/Linux

Never will use Gentoo doesn't interest me, as for the others I've used them all and I could easily rate them in my top four or five(can't forget NetBSD!) of my favorite OS's

getting her started on it, she had lent her laptop (currently running Vista), to some of her friends awhile back. They went to all kinds of porn places, and got viruses and trojans on her laptop. She has been having nothing but problems with it, even after she had her OS restored. And I am always teasing her when things go wrong with her laptop. I always tell her, ya I know whats wrong with it "What?" You are running *******..


So now she is starting to get fed up with ******* just like I did a few years ago.

neither, Arch isn't Debian or Red Hat based and uses the pacman package manager

Once you get by the initial installation and configuration Arch becomes very easy to maintain. If you've successfully got Debian working sit down and read the beginners installation guide for Arch and it shouldn't be too bad :)

Arch isn't based on debian, neither red hat.
I actually quite like the package manager, because it is pretty easy to make your own package.

Mmmm going to think about that when i finish my debian/ubuntu bible, trying to learn a lot of things from the ebook.

Fedora has rarely worked for me. I've never tried Gentoo though; I'm going to see what that's like in vbox. I've never tried FreeBSD either, though NetBSD was over my head. Ubuntu is my old standby :D. openSUSE is decent enough but I still personally prefer Ubuntu.
